Opening the Heart - Emotional Release Treatment

It may seem strange to talk to yourself in terms of 'parts' because we have been taught over time that our mind is one unit, separate to our body. But the truth is that our mind is naturally multiple. We have multiple parts and personalities within us that operate in relationship to one another, sometimes conflicting with one another.

As a Trauma aware individual, I adopt the Internal Family Systems model (parts practice) and combine it with the Amanae Bodywork technique of Opening the Heart. When these two models combine, they offer a profound depth of transformation that starts within and filters out.

The Breath

In this session we bring the breath. It helps us to connect in with our bodies and the subtle energy. The breath also helps us to carry forward any stuckness into our conscious awareness. The breath helps to release blockages from the body, emotionally, mentally and physically.

The Body

In this session we connect fully with our body. The body is the first language we learn. The sensations, impulses, movement and expression. Our body will always keep track of everything that is going on, internally and externally and therefore is essential for deep transformation and connection.

Our Parts - which we call Emotions, Thoughts and Feelings

In this session we explore all the different parts within you that are ready to be felt, heard and seen. Parts can be experienced as; Thoughts, Feelings, Sensations, Images, Impulses, Inner Voices, Sounds and Words. Emotional blockages within the body show themselves in many ways and just like our parts, they need to be seen and heard for who they truly are, and not the role they have been forced into.

Curiosity - Our natural response to pain

In this session we apply as much curiosity to our parts as we can, much like how you would approach a child or a small animal. Curiosity is a beautiful response to pain because it releases expectation and allows a playfulness to arise from a somewhat challenging experience.
